Specialty Schools
Over the past 25 years, "Specialty Schools" have emerged as the residential option for teens boasting the highest success rates!
Their focus is to "build-up" a struggling teen, NOT tear them down through physical exertion, fear or intimidation.
Â
A specialty school is typically comprised of the following:
• Behavior Modification Program: This is a Merit-based system where student accountability, personal responsibility, integrity, self discipline and respect are learned.  As the reward of positive behaviors demonstrated, students will earn daily points and privileges. Inappropriate attitudes and behaviors are confronted, consequented, and most importantly, "re-directed".
•  Daily Self Esteem and Character Building Courses as well as intensive Emotional Growth Seminars help students to determine their personal values and goals, learn accountability for them, and also prepare to return home and contribute to the unity of their family and home. Â
•  Parent Education Seminars and Family Weekends are offered to help create family unity and growth and assist parents in gaining the tools they need to make working changes in the home environment.
• Individualized Academic Studies help students to gain the study skills needed to be successful in their academic lives.Â
• Leadership skills:   Specialty Schools promote upper-level qualified students to leadership roles, improving their self-esteem and skills needed for adulthood.
• Mental Health Services: Many youth programs also offer mental health services, including psychological and psychiatric services to assist those with minor mental or emotional issues. These appointments can take place either on or off campus depending on specifics of the program you choose. This is typically an extra charge, although we do have a Residential Treatment Center with inclusive counseling. Â
Typically a Specialty School offers the highest success rates because students attending these types of programs have the necessary time to make and "internalize" lasting changes. They typically learn to "want the right things for the right reasons".Â
