Specialty Schools
Over the past 25 years, "Specialty Schools" have emerged as the residential option for teens boasting the highest success rates! Their focus is to "build-up" a struggling teen, NOT tear them down through physical exertion, fear or intimidation.

A specialty school is typically comprised of the following:
• Behavior Modification Program:  This is a Merit-based system where student accountability, personal responsibility, integrity, self discipline and respect are learned.  As the reward of positive behaviors demonstrated, students will earn daily points and privileges.  Inappropriate attitudes and behaviors are confronted, consequented, and most importantly, "re-directed".
•  Daily Self Esteem and Character Building Courses as well as intensive Emotional Growth Seminars help students to determine their personal values and goals, learn accountability for them, and also prepare to return home and contribute to the unity of their family and home.
•  Parent Education Seminars and Family Weekends are offered to help create family unity and growth and assist parents in gaining the tools they need to make working changes in the home environment.
• Individualized Academic Studies help students to gain the study skills needed to be successful in their academic lives.
• Leadership skills:   Specialty Schools promote upper-level qualified students to leadership roles, improving their self-esteem and skills needed for adulthood.
• Mental Health Services:  Many youth programs also offer mental health services, including psychological and psychiatric services to assist those with minor mental or emotional issues.  These appointments can take place either on or off campus depending on specifics of the program you choose.  This is typically an extra charge, although we do have a Residential Treatment Center with inclusive counseling.

Typically a Specialty School offers the highest success rates because students attending these types of programs have the necessary time to make and "internalize" lasting changes.  They typically learn to "want the right things for the right reasons".

Juvenile Boot Camps
Juvenile Boot Camps and Boot Camp Alterntatives For Struggling Teens Often when parents are in crisis with their teenager they turn to the only resources they know to be available. Most often this is a boot camp or military school. My child needs DISCIPLINE, so where better than the military or a boot camp! We have all seen the TV shows and documentaries of children and teens deemed out of control being carted off to boot camps designed to scare them straight and break them from their self-destructive course. While they are well meaning, boot camps often fail to deliver long-term results. When a teen returns home they usually return to their old ways within a matter of weeks -- and parents discover that they spent thousands of dollars for no measurable results. We offer a better alternative with a proven formula for success: Specialty Schools and Programs. Over 15,000 students have gone through our comprehensive programs and we boast an 85% success rate and a 98% Parent Satisfaction rate. Put your teenage tennis shoes on and think about what would have worked to help you make changes in your life then you'll see the reasons why our programs simply work: We help to BUILD UP students, instead of BREAK THEM DOWN. We get to the ROOT of the problem instead of treating behaviors TOPICALLY (i.e. drugs are bad) We give them new TOOLS that will WORK for them, instead of scaring them out of using their OLD TOOLS We give them the time to INTERNALIZE new habits and behaviors instead of a "CRASH COURSE" (Long term programs give LIFE-LONG results, QUICK FIX programs give short term results)

Military School
Is a Military School the right choice for your child? The answer to that question is your purpose that you are using a military school for. Military schools can be beneficial if you want a school that will teach some obedience and discipline. They generally have some good character development with a structured program. If your child is struggling in his or her current school or needs some discipline this could be a good choice. However Military Schools are not designed to help teens with significant problems. When Do Military Schools Run? Military Schools run the same way traditional schools do with a summer session off. If you are looking for help with a troubled teen, Military Schools Summer sessions are less effective. Why? Because when a child need help or is struggling with certain issues, one of the most important things a struggling teen needs is consistency. What does a Military School Cost? Military schools will start off about $20,000 a year and can go up depending on the school. The vast majority of Military Schools operate with a summer session off.

What about military school alternatives? If your teen has some significant problems that can not be helped by private school with some military aspects to it, a great consideration would be a specialty boarding schools or a residential treatment centers. These schools are designed to help struggling teens. They contain a variety of components such as character development, progressive academics, and highly structured program.

Boarding Schools
When Do Boarding Schools and Treatment Centers Run? Specialty boarding schools and residential treatment centers generally will run on a year around basis. Because consistency is a important part of learning and growth this helps struggling teens fully utilize the boarding school and tools that it give.

What is the cost of a specialty boarding school? Specialty boarding schools can start from $2290 a month.
